Ty Byrd has done many unethical business tractions before. This is not the first. I have a friend who worked for the agency and advised she had to leave in fear of losing her license due to all the unethical practices he had his sales people do to make a sale. And on top of treating potential clients poorly, this guy also doesn’t pay his sales people when they are supposed to be paid, he short changes them when he does pay them with Bull shit reason why the their portion of the deal is less than expected, and on some occasions he hold their pay checks over their head if they don’t sleep with him… yes, if they don’t sleep with him. His douche bag is much larger than this thread, in fact outside of his business practices, he also does things in his personal life that are pretty bad. Not only should you not use this guy, but if you know we can get him out of business permanently so he doesn’t hurt any more clients and sales people, that would be the best approach to deal with a roach. Exterminate it.

This is an old post, but after reading this, I had to respond. This is awful. I have no clue why you are all going after a good person who you clearly do not know. This board is full of total lies. What would possess people to sit at a computer and harass someone who is working hard trying to make a living for themselves and for their family is beyond me. I don't know who would read this and trust a bunch of racists anyway. It is terrible that you can sit behind a computer and call this man a "monkey" and "gorilla" and all the other racist comments. You are trying to put him down, but in the process showing what a simple person you are yourself.
I have personally known Ty for over 8 years now. I met him as he was my broker for an apartment I rented in 2005. His professionalism, honestly, work ethic and integrity is unparalleled which is the reason he is the only broker I have worked with over the past 8 years. Over that time, he has also become a close personal friend. I will speak to Ty and see why he has not responded to MHG on this thread, for which I am sure there is good reason. MHG's post does not make too much sense to me, a "deposit" means you are putting money down that will be used towards rent / security, etc. So why would Ty refund part of a deposit? If you put down a deposit to hold the apartment it will be applied to your lease payments, or a security deposit will be returned upon completion of the lease. If the deal was renegotiated for whatever reason, I am highly confident Ty returned the money. If not, as someone stated, MHG would have had a pretty strong case with the authorities. Negotiation in terms of price for the apartment is not solely on Ty. He may be a middleman in the negotiation process, however if the landlord was looking for $150 more, that is up to the client to decide if what the landlord is asking is viable. As I mentioned, MHG's post is unclear as to the actual events.
Additionally, SallyBell is outright attacking this man for no good reason. Your post is pure fiction. Her "friend" is imaginary. At the time of her post, Ty was partners at a firm names DSA, in which he worked under a number of other partners and had nothing at all to do with payroll responsibilities. Prior to DSA, Ty ran a company named Aventana. Aventana was a 2 man operation, which included Ty and a close friend of his from the business. Unethical transactions and holding checks to sleep with him? You have serious problems in your own life SallyBell. Go outside and find something productive to do, rather than playing on your computer and trying to hurt others.

Just wanted to share a lovely experience I had with this broker. I had my first dealing with Ty this past summer in which he was supposed to lease out an apt for me and few friends. We all sent in applications and fees and were approved and so good ol loyal Ty said we were going to sign a lease. We agreed on a price which was slightly lower than the original asking price but nonetheless we had a verbal agreement. But not only did Ty not tell us that he wanted more and was going to go to any lengths to get a little more cash he played us along as if we were gonna get the apt all along and just pretended like he was "busy." then he pretended that he didnt get part of the applications which he had already confirmed he had received. So we sent in the applications a second time and told Ty that we were ready to sign a lease when he was ready and good old Ty would tell us week after week "yea we"ll sign by the end of the week or the beg of next week. His excuse was that the management was holding up the process so we called the management at one point who said that there was no holdup. This went on for about 2 months until Ty just slips out out of the blue that he had already leased the place out to "family friends" of his. turns out these family friends were classmates of ours who had offered a slightly higher fee. So we were all left without an apt with just days to go before the new school semester. What a professional sleazebag!
