Discussion about
Per informant, Bed Bath & Beyond and Macy's to anchor the future development on the corner of 125th street and lenox avenue. http://racked.com/archives/2007/07/30/storecasting_bed_bath_beyond_t.php
Cool. Thanks for the heads up.
There are also plans for a 19 story hotel on 5th Ave between 125th and 126th streets...groundbreaking this August. http://nyobserver.com/2007/harlem-get-first-luxury-hotel
Now Harlem can look more like a generic version of the rest of America with all these chains moving in. Thanks for ruining a unique neighborhood, you d*psh*t cheerleaders.
Mommie issues alert.
I think its great that Harlme has stores and easy access to everything else the rest of Manhattan has too. It will only add to the neighborhood and encourage more small shops to open up, clean up, and small boutique restaurants to open too. It will soon be a destination like SoHo and The Village etc. Why not? There are beautiful bldgs up here and magnificiant arcitecture unlike anywhere else in the The City.
FYI, we ate at a new place called Caminito (on Park bet. 117 and 118) over the weekend and loved it. Hope more and more places like this little gem keep popping up in the hood. http://www.menupages.com/restaurantdetails.asp?areaId=31&restaurantId=44242
Daniel know any other places by 118th and lex or park. Just moved there. Thanks!
We like Piatto d'Oro too - http://www.menupages.com/restaurantdetails.asp?areaid=0&restaurantid=10127&neighborhoodid=0&cuisineid=0

We ate at Native on Lenox Ave and about 118th Street. It was excellent and the service was wonderful. Prices were great too, we will be going back there alot. I will check out the other places mentioned above as well.
