Moving to more space, need a new bed. Any suggestions?
Sleepyz (however they spell it) is fine. All places will negotiate somewhat on prices: the mattress itself, a mattress pad to cover it, delivery--all negotiable. Model names and numbers change between retailers so exact comparison shopping is quite difficult. Go on line and read what people have to say about various mattress lines.
If you meant bed frames, Room and Board has a ton and most are quite solid. The other 'usual suspects' in NYC are Pottery Barn, Crate and Barrel, Charles P. Rogers, Jensen Lewis.
Select Comfort store. I just got a queen one for myself and love it.
Sweetheart it's called Armani Casa. Look it up.
We bought a mattress a few years ago from Bloomingdale's. The mattress was slightly damaged upon delivery and they took it away no problem and replaced it with another mattress right away. Wait for the sales for a much better price - maybe August if I remember correctly.
Also, has anyone bought a bed frame from Charles P. Rogers - I'm thinking of buying from them at sale time? Thanks.
Bloomingdales
lobster do u know when charles rogers has sales? i have been waiting for months
i love their platform beds
Bloomingdales? How much did you overpay by?
Bela: I saw an advertisement for sales on some of their beds at Memorial Day weekend. I'm hoping they have a sale again over the 4th of July weekend. Will post here if I find out they have beds on sale.
didn't buy - suggesting via friends pos experience.
have u ever looked at the sleep comfort beds which you can each adjust the bed to how every firm or soft you like?
just got a heavenly westin-love it! can get if from nordstrom's. try it out at any westin in the us.
Those are Select Comfort beds. I have one and I love it. I don't know where their store is in Manhattan so go to their website.
Macy's - Tempurpedic. Be aware their return policy for Tempurpedic beds is you have to wait approximately 2 months (can't remember the exact length) before you can change return/exchange it. I wanted to return mine right away because it was too firm but after a month it softened up and I didn't feel like exchanging the mattress anymore. I guess their policy worked (for them at least).
bela, check today's Home section in the NY times for an advertisement for Charles P. Rogers beds. You can also check their website.
lobster, I bought my bed from Charles P Rogers - really happy with it, and got a pretty good deal as well. They also did the installation for free (not sure if that's standard, but wanted to point it out in case). I got my mattress (a Tempurpedic knock off, but absolutely no complaints) for $500 (including shipping) from Amazon.
How about green beds. i.e. not doused in toxic flame retardants, etc.
any suggestions?
ABC Home has green beds but I'm sure they're not cheap.
