Recent article on the BP oil cap. Federal government is seeing oil and methane seepage in the surround area. The pressure readings in the cap are lower than expected. Either a) vastly more oil has leaked out than previously acknowledged or b) the pressure caused by the cap is weakening the strata around the drill hole and setting up the possibility for an uncontrollable release of oil and methane.
