I think you are taking this to far. I look at this antoher way. The media is largely to the left so they tend to support Democrats more than Republicans. There may have been some fascination with Obama's unique origins but at this point the media treats him like any other President with left wing outlets more pro Obama and right wing ones..
As far as he doesnt' stand for what made this country great, I disagree. I think he just as a different opininion. He thinks what will make this country better is helping to equalize outcomes, which is different than my opinion which is to promote equal opportunity.
Lastly all candidates play the game and/or make compromises after gaining ofice.
