These are the laws of my administration
No one's allowed to smoke
Or tell a dirty joke
And whistling is forbidden...
If chewing gum is chewed
The chewer is pursued.
And in the hoosegow hidden...
If any form of pleasure is exhibited
Report to me and it will be prohibited.
I'll put my foot down, so shall it be.
This is the land of the free.

The last man nearly ruined this place
He didn't know what to do with it
If you think this country's bad off now
Just wait 'til I get through with it
The country's taxes must be fixed
And I know what to do with it
If you think you're paying too much now
Just wait 'til I get through with it...

I will not stand for anything that's crooked or unfair
I'm strictly on the up and up
So everyone beware
If anyone's caught taking graft
And I don't get my share
We stand 'em up against the wall
And pop goes the weasel.

If any man should come between her husband and his bride
We find out which one she prefers
By letting her decide
If she prefers the other man
The husband steps outside
We stand 'em up against the wall
And pop goes the weasel.

None of the above. I trust CEOs and business leaders the least. Only out for their bottom line. Couldn't care less about their workers or helping society unless it brings them profit. Politicians and generals are right there too. Talk about a tough list.

Well these are where we get our typical leaders, sounds like you prefer the politicians by default.

What about doctors, lawyers, academics, clergy, teachers? By definition anyone who seeks elective office is a politician. If you mean what professional background inspires trust why would you exclude the key professions?

I prefer a mix of all three with each taking a turn leading.

"Who would you like to see ruling seeking or continuing to seek elected office?"

I would like to see MIDDLE CLASS people ruling. Let's throw out all the Ivy Leaguers and elect teachers, cops, sanitation, etc. to serve in Congress. I want political outsiders.

The_President, that was Lenin's idea and practice: anyone can lead (rule?) a country.
The most stupid, ignorant, anti-intellectual idea. Look where it got everyone.

columbiacounty ,you seem upset. Is it because aboutready wished us farewell? Conveniently timed the morning she was going on vacation?

She'll be back. She wished streeteasy farewell two years ago. Jsmith posted the link to her farewell, didn't you see it?

report abuse I'm sure a number of you will be happy to see my departure (although Spunky, I will truly miss you) but I have found a number of real estate blogs where I don't even feel compelled to post very often, because I agree generally with what's being said (and they're run by real estate brokers, no less.) I'm sure that nervous habit, or excessive boredom, will cause me to check in once in awhile (particularly about specific buildings I might be interested in), but generally I find you guys to be storks with your heads so stuck in the sand its gotta cause some major itching.

New York IS different, just not THAT much. Bye, and good luck.

a fight to the death between generals and ceos. career politicians are parasites.

although of the 3 listed i suppose i trust military the most since they have/are willing to bleed and or die for this country, and that's worth something.

I hate CEOs. They should not be alloweed anywhere near DC. The weak economy is exactly what the US Chamber of Commerce wants beause now they have an endless supply of cheap labor.
