Anyone have any thoughts on this new development? I'm wondering about new developments in general. Are there too many being put up? Are they worth the extra costs and uncertainties in construction timelines, or should you stick with existing condos?

If you stick with the existing condos, you may miss out on some of the new amenities. 39 E 29th looks pretty good, location, price and extras. Heard they may be building a 4 star hotel a few doors down.

You are right about the hotel. It will be on the southwest corner of Park Avenue and E 29th Street. It will be called Gansevoort Park. They already have another hotel, Hotel Gansevoort at W 13th and 9th Avenue. This one will be high end with rooms at $500 a night. There will also be a rooftop bar and pool that will be open to nonguests. How will this affect the Twenty9th Park Madison which is only 2 buildings down on the north side? It seems that in the end it will drive the prices up on these condos because this hotel will bring a new vitality to the area. Any thoughts?

don't forget about the hotel breslin, being developed as an Ace Hotel on 29th and Broadway.

I think the neighborhood is way overdue for a change.
