Having bought far too much furniture these past two years (first for a leased unit and then later for the apartment we bought), my advice would be to go directly to FurnitureLandSouth in N.C. Their prices are incredible, the customer service is awesome, and if you hit the right months...no delivery charge. You can order on line or with a sales rep all of which we found to be most knowledgeable and helpful. i think you will do better than with overstock or smartbargains.

Just go directly to Stickley on 25th Street. Everything you could possibly need is there.

rosina, wow! i'm in the same situation. however i did have good experience with ordering furniture online for the lease apt. and then sold everything on Craigs list. unfortunately i don't have the time nor patience to go down to NC.
NCMatt, i will check them out.

and Matt is right...Stickley does have a wonderful assortment of furniture but at a different price point. our reason for going to High Point was to save a substantial amount of money. I shopped first, figured out what i wanted, and could have done the whole thing on line or with a telephone call to a sales rep but did have the time (during the renovation) to go and actually see most everything. As an aside, I did sell some of the stuff i bought at Macys for the leased apartment to folks moving in after us, put the rest in storage with our stuff, and then wound up giving it all to our new building super for his daughter who was moving into her first apartment. In my next life i am going to be a better planner.
