Discussion about
Hi everyone, I recently submitted an offer of $210K for a 1 bedroom in Woodside. I hired a real estate lawyer who seems to have good credentials. Her charge is $975 for a flat rate, plus other expenses. Is this too high, or does it fall into the normal range? Since the co-op is cheap, I'm wondering if I'm being overcharged. Thanx.

It should not matter how much the coop costs you, the time is the same for an attorney to read through contract docs and go to a closing with you. Considering i paid $2500 in manhattan, $975 seems like a great price.

Any reasonable RE Lawyer will charge a flat fee. Like Mikev said its a pretty good deal considering most charge somewhere around $3000 or less for Manhattan.

I'd say at worst you're getting a decent deal.

I would recommend Diane Nickelberg, ESQ in Forest Hills for any real estate closings. She handled all 3 of mine. Her staff is professional, calls back when you leave a message, and she is on the ball in all matters.
