Mechanical/Automated Parking systems in Condos

I visited a condo building that has a parking garage with some sort of parking system where cars are stacked up on two levels. Has anyone ever seen these anywhere else? Or better yet, does anyone have any experience with them? My main concern is that the system might be prone to breakage or is inconvenient.
