RENT NOW OR FOREVER BE PRICED OUT! ---------------------------------------------------- New apartment rentals in Manhattan more than tripled in the third quarter, as landlords offered fewer concessions and tenants sought better deals by moving out. New leases signed surged to 8,593 from 2,549 a year earlier, according to a report today by appraiser Miller Samuel Inc. and property broker Prudential Douglas Elliman Real Estate. The median price of a new apartment lease in Manhattan rose 1.7 percent in the quarter to $3,000, according to Miller Samuel and Prudential. http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2010-10-07/manhattan-new-apartment-rentals-triple-as-fewer-deals-spur-tenants-to-move.html [less]
