Discussion about
Have been transfered from Germany to New York this week. Until my furniture arrives in February, I need a furnished apartment for four month for decent conditions. This seems to be impossible. Any ideas?

Search for descriptions that include "furnished" or "short-term" on this site's rental search. You should be able to find something very nice.

short term furnished rentals are extremely expensive. I can help you, but it's usually more cost-efficient to take a hotel if you can stand it.

But let me ask this: how much space do you need, and what's your budget? What's your limiting factor? Kids? Pets?

and do you smoke?

http://www.tempapts.com - Alternative Business Accommodations has great units and I think they are a bit less expensive.

Hope this would still help. You may want to try using the internet. This was a great help when I was in the same situation as yours. I hope you find what you're looking for.
