Discussion about 38 Delancey Street in Lower East Side
sinnerman, try posting the question again w/ the address in the subject. No one can see which building it is unless they click through.
I'm curious to hear the replies.
I'm there. So far so good. Great neighborhood. Freemans and Shiller's are two great spots within short walking distance.
Fit and finish of the kitchens is a bit weak given the price point, but other than that, not too much to complain about so far (1 month in).
As for "value for money".... I think it's solid because you are getting a discount for being on Delancey, but is not really such a terrible experience at this end of Delancey. Once you go the other side of Allen it's a different story.
I concur with Least_sider...I remember going to look at these units and while I was impressed with the views and light the apartments got, I was disappointed by the fit and finish of the kitchens. Additionally, I was also disappointed with appliances chosen, as well as the fact that they weren't throwing in a W/D unit as well. Hopefully those who closed at least negotiated a W/D into their sales price.
Seems 38 Delancey has taken its website down. Is there a gym in the building? Nearest one seems to be Ludlow Fitness.
Lived in a rental unit for 30 months. Owner failed to fully refund the security deposit and withheld monies in excess of actual costs.
I'm renting here. No gym. Closest gym is Ludlow Fitness, or if it's too bare bones, there is an equinox 5min away in soho. We love living here- the location is great. You get the best of living in a new construction with a neighborhood-y feel. Building entrance is on Forsyth, which is very quiet. However, agree that the appliances and finishes are shoddy. The AC/heater units are crappy- it's loud and barely doing what it's suppose to do. I have to turn off the ac some times just to make a phone call. But, we stuck around because the location just can't be beat, and we're not paying extra for amenities that we would never use i.e. gym, swimming pool.
