Discussion about
anyone who lives at The Cherokee can tell me if there's any problems with the buildings? How's the financials of the coop? Is the coop responsible for the repair of plumbing? Are there any plans to replace the windows / outside (they are literally falling apart and paint's peeling off, water drips off the broken gutter which stains the wall green)? if so, how much are the assessments per share? Thanks

Cool buildings. When I saw them for the first time, it was like a bit of Paris in NYC. The outdoor pool is ghetto-ey, but the park is nice. No elevator.

Nice big windows. An ideal unit for me in this building is a ground level one facing quiet, tree lined 78th, where I would open up the french windows and enjoy a glass of Malbec on a cool breezy night.

Is nice area but agree with NYC that the outdoor pool is a wild party during the summer time. I like the buildings but that pool crowd kept me away, did not like the characters showing up and drinking afterwards.

I can speak to some of the questions. They are responsible for the plumbing and if you renovate an older bathroom the building will even pay to have your pipes redone. The windows are going to be replaced soon and they have received a grant from the historic registry to pay for half of the windows so there isn't going to be a huge assessment. I have a friend that lives in the building and loves it there.
