recommendation for furniture reupholstery

There is a man in Queens Aldo ( Aldo Upholstery) 6462213021. It's a mom and pop business and he does quality work. Very nice people. You can tell him the dentist referred you. My mom had work done with him and we were very pleased. If you want fabric from D and D building you will have to get your own referral. Not sure if he can provide that for you.

If you want very high end, you can try the D and D building for an referral. We got fabric from the Nancy Corzine house and that place is AMAZING.

ABC upholstery fabrics should also be able to recommend a good upholsterer. There was a great fabric shop on the lower east side that moved across the street from ABC on 18th?. 19th? Alas, I cannot remember the name of the shop but they have great, reasonable fabrics and know the upholsterers that designers use.

I've never used them...Don't know if they will be able to help with repair.

P.S. Did a Bing search for "New York reupholstery" and there were several recommendations from yelp.com and citysearch. I'm going to check out Eastern Parkway Reupholstery in Brooklyn (718-498-3399). I have a chair that I need reupholstered--see, you're not alone!

One person commented that if you email them a photo of your furniture piece with measurements they can give you an estimate over the phone. AND they do repairs.
