Questions to ask a contractor walk-through

Hi, I am about to take contractors to the pre-war apt we are buying. I am new to the process (buying in NYC, and renovation), and would love some advice on questions to ask, things to look for during that visit. I have already worked up a list of the things we would need done: this is not a gut reno: we just would like to install w/d (allowed), upgrade AC, lighting, and closets, skim coat walls and refinish floors. Thanks in advance for your insights!
