While I fully appreciate the job of New York's finest, I've noticed a very distinct change in their attire this past year. Unshaven beards, shorts with tattoos clearly displayed on their legs, hats not on straight. What's going on?

But seriously law enforcement officials are a direct reflection on the city and very noticed by overseas visitors.

I don't have a problem with cops wearing shorts. You try standing in front of the Lincoln Tunnel (with all the hot cement) in 95 degree/95% humidity for 8 hours a day/5 days a week....
