Home owners insurance for coop

I just bought a 1BR coop in the village, first time home owner. What kind of insurance should I get? I know if I call e.g., AllState they will try to sell me most comprehensive policy possible but just wanted to get this boards advice. thanks

Ask the building's managing agent what kind of insurance you need -- most co-ops require homeowner's insurance and they're a good place to start.

As far as companies, I've been happy with Travelers Co-op insurance, but I understand that Chubb is the gold standard. Make sure the agent understands this is for a co-op and not a condo. I can recommend a very good agent if you're interested.
