Mayson2 on Amsterdam between 69 and 70. The older woman who does all the alterations and such is really great. not too pricey either.
When I lived in the neighborhood, I used Anthony the Tailor at 101 West 74th Street, (212) 595-7062. Not sure he's still there, but he was fairly priced and did great work; however, he was not fast. Among other things, he hemmed my wedding dress, which had multiple layers of silk and a train for $50, which I thought was very reasonable.
