Of course, it's marketing, but folks seem to want to know about such auctions. At worst, bidders have a reasonable amount of assurance--emphasis on reasonable--that a legitimate auction establishes far market value. As I have explained in the past, that's not always the case. But it is true that it is possible--emphasis on possible--to land a bargain.

Malcom in a word No. There are too many desperate ppl that will take these silly auctions. It is only when even the middle men say no to these silly 'reserve' auctions will the smart geniuses like me actually bid on something. Why bid on auctions when actual FDIC forced foreclosure sales will happen? Nothing like a transaction when the seller got zip in the game.
