Does this mean all the Google employees in their Manhattan HQ will have more buying power? Microsft next, then Oracle, then......

"Does this mean all the Google employees in their Manhattan HQ will have more buying power?"

Google is eliminating one of the multipliers for the company bonus structure so, all-in, they are probably paying a bit less. Nice PR strategy until employees realize that they are actually taking a pay cut.

If you think Google pays their employees a lot, well, you are only sort of right. If someone from Company ABC (which isn't Google) paid their employees $150,000, the guy that works at Google might make only $80,000. HOWEVER, the Google employee gets stock options, several meals a day, snacks all day long and an office that makes you want to work and not go home.

Don't get me wrong, working at google is absolutely amazing, but their buying power based on their annual salary won't shoot up.

As an aside... if you have a friend that works at Google, you NEED to get them to take you to lunch there and give you a tour. Their two buildings are amazing.
