Wha Wha? No bks in nyc, or at least not in prime, definitely not with views, and never seen one on 5th. Usually some crap fringe area drug den with absolutely no amenities like a doorman or gold encrusted waterfall.

when each individual foreclosure sale is a noteworthy item, by definition foreclosures are not meaningful.

you have some very serious anger management issues - perhaps you should up your visits to therapy, or at the least increase the dosage of your meds. Seriously, a bland post on a discussion board should not elicit such a response. Lord only knows how you react when faced with actual adversity.

With $3 a foot monthly costs($4900)....yikes!
Get an extra half bath and 9 floors up for $8500 a month and keep your 2 million+ dollars!

"when each individual foreclosure sale is a noteworthy item, by definition foreclosures are not meaningful."

That's precisely my thought everytime I see people make a big deal out of something like this. NYC -- whatever one's view of where it may go -- seems to have an insignificant level of foreclosures so far, nothing like the real estate markets that have really fallen, where foreclosure sales themselves have become part of the market momentom.

sorry for the source quality.

"In Gotham, it now takes plaintiffs almost two years to repossess properties, double the time it took in 2006, the statistics show."

and since our problems really didn't start until a little over two years ago, i'm not so surprised we haven't seen more yet.

leading indicator? take a look at this graph and tell me what it is indicating?

http://www.propertyshark.com/Real-Estate-Reports/2010/09/09/manhattan-new-scheduled-foreclosure-auctions-up-7-in-august-2010/

foreclosures have bounced around very low numbers for quite some time. perhaps they will go up massively in the future to the point that they matter, but that is pure speculation - nothing indicates that we are on such a path.

Would this be news if the building didn't have the Trump name?

nobody is particularly impressed with the trump branding in and of itself these days. in fact I think for many it's a negative.

your logic is mystifying as ever. opinions can't be wrong as long as you're spewing them. but yes, here it's the fifth avenue location that's attention grabbing, not that it's a has-been tacky trump development

interesting....
I'll clarify. I was not arguing with the validity of your opinion. Others have similarly opined. But it's not relevant to the question.

sure it is. trump is old news. nobody cares, except maybe in a look at that train-wreck, recurring shit-show sort of way. i guess that wasn't obvious from my earlier statement, my apologies.
