The world's largest Internet search engine, whose finance chief told investors in September that the Internet industry was waging a "war for talent," has job openings listed for 2,076 positions on its website, according to a Reuters tally Thursday.

The number of job openings is up nearly six-fold from a similar tally of job listings page conducted in March 2009.

So, if those are really the Google salaries, we are talking about 2000 more people who still cannot afford to buy prime Manhattan real estate.

Roughly half in the US, and probably 1/2 of those in Palo Alto/San Jose, with the other 1/2 scattered through the US. So another 200-250 jobs in NY? for people who can afford $2500-$3000 monthlies, and from the most successful company today in the US (non-Apple division).

We are saved!

sorry for the snark, but when you read Citi is adding 2000 people that will mean something. Or Conde Nast. Or a BigLaw firm.
