LL are being reasonable

My LL just informed me my rent is going up $50.00 a month..I was stunned since last year he lowered it by $375.00...Considering people on SE have been saying rents are rising rapidly it doesn't look that way...My LL is very large..I'm in a doorman bldg.

Julia, thanks for sharing that data point.

The stories of the rental market increase have been greatly exaggerated. I should post my recent experiences at some point. A lot more posturing compared to last year, but without a whole lot of difference in results.

I just re-signed a one-year lease and my rent also went up by exactly $50.00 per month. This was after decreasing by $500 last year. With the $50 increase, they repainted the apartment, put in a new oven/stove, and several other smaller improvments.
