Fair price for Central Park West - thoughts?

I never understand posts like this. For a buyer it only attracts attention and increases competition. I always believed the only rational people who would do this would be sellers or brokers acting on behalf of the seller. The last situation are people trying to ruin a sale, but the language of the o.p. doesn't suggest that.
