Discussion about
Hi Where can I get floorplans for an apt I am interested in? The sellers do not have a copy... Is there someplace I can go (city agency or something)? Thanks

It should be in the offering plan that the sellers should have. If they don't have one, then their neighbor might.

I politely disagree, James. Floorplans are not necessarily in the offering plan that a coop owner receives prior to signing a contract and/or at closing. I've frankly not ever seen it so it can't be too unusual for the floorplans to be omitted. That is why so often what you see on websites are old plans that have been xeroxed a billion times and can hardly be read. The only plans many owners have are what they didn't misplace and what was passed on to them during the purchasing process from the prior seller. Sometimes people rustle up a plan from a similar apartment in their building and that is also why you often get all sorts of inaccuracies in these plans (e.g., fireplaces depicted that aren't really there, bump outs in walls where there are none in plan or columns in plan that aren't in the actual apt, rooms that vary a couple of inches from measurements in the plan).
