Discussion about
Well. every where you look in the media recently are tales of the cyber bully. That's what we have here. The question is what to do? To a certain degree this would seem to be a response to a dull lifeless RE market that hangs on the cusp of change. It would seem apparent that we have fatigued of the argument as to which way it will fall or why. So here we sit procrastinating and avoiding the... [more]

6. One username per person...period. Multiply username posters should be shunned and ignored by all the regulars.

We should definitely protect the weak, defenseless, impotent and mentally or physically pathetic in our society and amongst us anywhere and everywhere. They can not defend themselves so we must do it for them.

I think if streeteasy receives a certain amount of formal written complaints from users re: specific posts of another user, that user should be suspended for specific period (like a month). If the same poster receives a second round of complaints upon their return, they should be permanently removed from the boards.

really matson? so if the delusional troll in their multiple personalities make written complaints, a valued contributor can be suspended? it is the mentally deranged that would overweight the complaint box. not the sane, occasional visitors. why not just concede the site to the trolls. falco has a fair point. unfortunately, only falco generally adheres to those sane and civilized rules. But....Free w 67. Life is too short to unhide the clever, the sensible outsider viewpoint. No prob not to unhide the trolls. I am never even tempted. Interesting to see the losers that respond to trolls.

If people posted under their real names, then there would be far less trolling.

i read six seven more carefully based on his being gray--and i am usually rewarded with a giggle, and occasionally good insight

h'burg et al....he stays gray, generally....and if it's apparent he's been working very hard and putting up some serious volume, like for a few months at least, i toss him an old chicken bone or two

I thought this was about the Vitaly Borker who wold eyeglasses.

In any case, a couple of my favorite comments, with contradiction built right into the statements:
>not the sane, occasional visitors.
>No prob not to unhide the trolls. I am never even tempted. Interesting to see the losers that respond to trolls.

Once again, amazing you take apt23 and Wbuttocks, and they are more obsessed with insisting on proving who they ignore rather than just ignoring. Probably because they don't ignore. Because very few if any others do.

I can't find anything on why some peoples comments are hidden. Their nastiness makes it obvious but I'm wondering how that comes about.

It's random and arbitrary. Well deserved in west67's case, long overdue for both aboutready and inonada.

I suspect inonada is ok on this, but if they set a limit based on being committed to a mental institution because of a real possibility of threats to a newborn child - well then you catch aboutready.

FLMAOzzzz. I came to SE to learn... then I realized the ali, Noah, Jimnutz, and the other shills have no fking clue. Not only do they have no fking clue, the fact after 2007/ 2008/2009.. .borkers continue to fist pump NYC RE and "owners" continue to live in another delusional reality not based on cash flows and hard facts IS QUITE QUITE funny to w67.

The fact NYCREAgent is not only a borker, but a "wealth" manager... makes me pee in my pants.

The fact, Jim11 thinks wearing oliver ppl glasses makes him "successful" is double pee in my pants... you've got it the other way around.. .the self made millionaire can wear $50 glasses and look, as can a hottie with a $20 dress (NOT the other way around).....

And along the way on the SE road, the more stupidity I've come across... more of the Palin is a fking whore type... and now that I've become the "forbidden" fruit.. I feel at liberty, nay challenged to earn my grayness every single fking day... so NYCREAgent, what did you want to be when you grew up bf you gave it up to be 2nd rate borker in NYC?

you get trolled if you say something that a small group of allegedly functioning adults finds offensive and instead of disputing your outlook point by point as adults should, they cry to mommy streeteasy. and mommy streeteasy is too busy running a phenominally successful website to actually give a sh*t , so they just troll the handle that gets too many complaints because they don't want to deal with the crybaby demographic they understand all too well and give in. they don't care, they just want all of us to stfu and let them run their business. and we shoull, i mean we are all of us allegedly functioning adults, right? if someone is a great big meanie, we can handle it and fight our own fights, right?

w67,

When you go camping do you yell and scream at the mosquitoes while camped out next to a stagnant pond full of scum?

The real issue with NYC's RE mkt isn't the borkers, but the "stagnant pond" of monetary and fiscal policies that continue to enrich a class of folk that have no qualms paying $1.4M for a 700 sq ft cookie cutter apt on the UES. (The vast majority of which shouldn't have jobs b/c their employers shouldn't exist...)

We have enacted policies that are "forcing" people to seek yield ANYWHERE possible. Don't worry about risk b/c the FED will enact QE3 if the stock market drops too far (David Tepper, Appaloosa Management) and Blackrock's Fink (what a name...) saying "investors have no choice to be in equities" - right before saying the U.S. is "the most over-housed society" in the world. (which doesn't matter in NYC).

Again, as long as the FED and gov't do everything in their power to prop up the US equity market, NYC prices aren't going to fall too far.

NYC prices are being DIRECTLY supported by ponzi-scheme US taxpayer dollars in yet another example of how QE2 and other FED policies have simply made the exceptionally rich even richer.

Borkers may be like maggots that multiply under these conditions, but it isn't their fault the environment in NYC is conducive due to the FED's free-money give away....

Unamomento... I believe you mistake me for that other w67. I accept your analysis, and I've long before stated the reason I hate bubbles is that it makes a mockery of the merit system that we expound so much as Americans.

When I speak of borkers, I speak of all foolz that deny that a bubble existed, if they do admit it they believe it over and/or any tool that thinks housesitting or any tulip sitting deserves any excess profits. We as a society have gone from excess profits to those who work and make goods and services (like my highly educated wife) to anytard that happens to be physically closer to ground zero on a bubble.

W67 and memito do not disagree. I like to point to the philosphical reasons why I hate borkers(bubbles and all itz playerz)..... QE1 was necessary, me thinks qE2 was unwarranted given a 2yr grace to get the fk out to all the retards. Looks like the retards are getting outta nyc.... Prices are dropping like rocks on a real basis and it feels and looks like it's accelerating. -cheers-

I was just looking for an opportunity to use the words "borker" and "maggot" in the same sentence.

Have a great weekend!

why would a broker be different than a used car salesman?
you don't expect the used car salesman to be an expert mechanic
you don't expect the used car salesman to be an auto industry manufacturer
you don't expect the used car salesman to be an aficionado of auto industry trends
you don't expect the used car salesman to have your best interests at heart
you don't expect the used car salesman to do anything other than try to sell you a car on the lot

you should expect the broker to try to sell you as hard as they can
the job description for a broker has at the top of the list: Sell Sell Sell
the rest of the job description is make copies and, see top of list
