Well ccc, maybe because the "troll" isn't rufus?

Two people quickly figured out that nopigsorshrimp was also hfscomm1. Those people would be w67thstreet and mimi. Of course many more know it now, and I admit that initially I didn't make it obvious but over time I didn't distinguish the two. Initially, I had w67thstreet believing nopigsorshrimp was English because I would occasionally spell "behaviour" (not coincidentally, apt23 also does that).

inonada speaks intelligently, seems credible, but on this one, he knows nothing.

But ... call me rufus, call me Agent Rachel, call me CarolSt, NYCMatt, Riversider, whoever you want. Just don't call me columbiacounty, because I don't want to be known as the real Troll.

I don't care how much longer you have "been here" than I have.
You should stop using "cccharley", in order to cover the fact that you posted a comment in the summer stating that you were leaving SE,(posted under your other SE name.)

I did not mention ar. I did not mention "cccharley".

Yet, here they both are:

"cccharley" with her sanctimonious comment, attempting to order me around.

"MidtownerEast" with her claim that my message to "cccharley" "is a whole lotta nonsense".

For more of her nonsense, just take a look at the current "How much to tip the super" thread.
She's on there being abusive to NYCMatt, calling him an a-hole.

MidtownerEast/aboutready: Ha! Your abusive posts, cursing people out on SE -- those posts get removed by SE.

They should have at least put you in the grey zone, years ago. Instead they allowed you to continue to believe that you are the Queen of Streeteasy. Cursing posters out. Being abusive. For years.
As if you own this site and this discussion board.

That was their mistake.

There's no such thing as schizophrenia, there's only mental telepathy. I once had a friend named Camilla Costello. She was Abbott and Costello's daughter. She said to me, 'You know, Sylvia, I have a lot of friends, but you're my best friend.' I'm working here. I'm an intern at Creedmoor. I'm in the Pentecostal Church, but I'm thinking of changing my religion. I have a dog at home. I love instant oatmeal. When you have Jesus, you don't need a diet. Mick Jagger wants to marry me. I want to get out the revolving door. With Jesus Christ, anything is possible. I used to hit my mother. It was the hyperactivity from all the cookies I ate. I'm the personification of Casper the Friendly Ghost. I used to go outside asking the other kids to be my friend when I was little. California's the most beautiful state in the Union. I've been there once, by television. My name is Jack Warden, and I'm an actress.

I really like the post that is still going - comparative prices. It's great and never ends. Oh shall we forget so quickly - 4++ park avenue post and his refrigerator- did he ever sell his apartment? Loved that one - or was that from 2 years ago. Time flies.

Truth - I really don't think CCCharley and LizYank are one and the same. LizYank has posted some of the most incredibly well written, evocative writing about pre-gentrification Manhattan that has appeared on SE. I, for one, really miss her posts.

Also, from what she has posted, she currently lives in the Gramercy area.

CCCharley, also from what she has posted, currently lives in PCV. She is simply an AR acolyte.

The only thing the two have in conmon, IMHO, is that they both are friends of AR.

From.thefreedictionary.com

acolyte: noun = follower, fan, supporter, pupil, convert, believer, admirer, backer, partisan, disciple, devotee, worshipper, apostle, cohort (chiefly U.S.), fan club (informal), adherent, henchman, habitué, votary

Nothing noted as "slaves" or "assistants"

Ph41, There was certainly a bit of hypberbole found in A.R'S slave reference. But "assistant" is a consistent with the defintion. The term refers to an inferior officer or church who attended the priests and deacons to perform subordinate duties. Larry Summers, Tim Geithner were two individuals who were frequently described as "acolytes" of Robert Rubin. It is cerataintly colorful and interesting way to describe an association.

Yes, one ocean-front may have recently closed - it's the only one that I'm aware of, but it wasn't finalized as of the last update. The price is doubtful, however, unless it's a fire sale, as the 1-bedrooms with no views are all listed for around $400,000. The maintenance figure is about right.

There was a foreclosure that may or may not have recently sold, and an estate sale that may or may not have recently sold. As I said, nothing had sold for 3 years, no one would even give a mortgage - all that was reported to us were some "potential" closings.

Unless you mean this one:

which isn't on the ocean, but if you stand on the railings or the roof you might be able to see it.

Steve, it's in that line of 12 facing the beach, where there's a BR and bath downstairs, and the LR/kit/deck/BR/bath upstairs. Closed middle of August. The other one was $600-something, and we saw work going on inside. A doctor from Germany.

The newsletter's probably not up to date.

My friend's was all-cash, which makes sense for a summer place built on sand. There'd been a couple of previous deals that fell through because the buyers wanted to borrow.

I agree that it's a summer place built on sand - which is why the current residing project with the ground mortgage is ridiculous: tripled maintenance, which is why I want to sell. 15-year self-amortizing mortgage @7.5% to replace a) windows that don't need replacing; and b) aluminum siding with all cedar, the most expensive siding on the face of the earth. And when it all gets washed away....

One of the two oceanfront units was a wreck, from what I was told. That may be the one where you saw work.

It is possible to get a mortgage now, though I don't under what terms. It's a new phenomenon, so we'll see how things work out next year. Fortunately, I can still afford mine, but many people can't.

Don't worry, cc charley, I have disagnosed your friend:

The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders fourth edition, DSM IV-TR, a widely used manual for diagnosing mental disorders, defines narcissistic personality disorder (in Axis II Cluster B) as:

A pervasive pattern of grandiosity (in fantasy or behavior), need for admiration, and lack of empathy, beginning by early adulthood and present in a variety of contexts, as indicated by five (or more) of the following:
1.has a grandiose sense of self-importance (e.g., exaggerates achievements and talents, expects to be recognized as superior without commensurate achievements)
2.is preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited success, power, brilliance, beauty, or ideal love
3.believes that he or she is "special" and unique and can only be understood by, or should associate with, other special or high-status people (or institutions)
4.requires excessive admiration
5.has a sense of entitlement, i.e., unreasonable expectations of especially favorable treatment or automatic compliance with his or her expectations
6.is interpersonally exploitative, i.e., takes advantage of others to achieve his or her own ends
7.lacks empathy: is unwilling to recognize or identify with the feelings and needs of others
8.is often envious of others or believes others are envious of him or her
9.shows arrogant, haughty behaviors or attitudes
