EXACTLY how I'd do my townhouse on PPW. If I had one. Let it be on the record that I wanted to buy Google right after IPO, but my partner vetoed it. The only wrong note are the carpets in the bedrooms. Would be trashed in zero seconds flat in my house. [less]
On ACRIS, JC bought for 3ish in '03, then sold in '08 for >8m to move to the Village (?)
Agree about the wall-to-wall bedroom carpeting. (Maybe the floors on that level were trashed, and the owners decided it wasn't worth replacing them if the wood was going to be covered with rugs anyway.) The dining table and light fixture seem out of place too. Then again, JC has freckles and weird eyebrows. Like her former home, she looks OK despite the flaws.
nyc10023 Ahhhhh the "only ifs". If I was not so bearish on Fort Green and bought that townhouse for $360K and don't get me started on Google at $90 and Apple at $78!!!!!!!! (I could be typing this from my yacht, right next to west67:)
Didn't JC used to live in the Archive in the West Village?
The last time I saw a teepee was somebody waiting for a canceled #7 train in Long Island City. Who knew they had Google money?!
So THAT's the house that terrified her kids. (I believe JC's word was "creepy.") I guess brownstones, no matter how beautiful, are not for everybody.
