Ambulance Noise

WHy is it that when you live nearish a hospital(ie 10 blocks away) that the ambulances seem to all wizz around from 6pm to 10pm......its been especially bad this week....is it due to the snow storm and people falling, etc OR is it poorer people on medicaid that are trying to get a bed for the evening?

It's just the difference between mid-block on 39th and an avenue corner on 35th. Both run west, but now you're hearing them going east on 34th and south on Park.

yeah when i lived on 39th never heard them...but ive been here for 6 months and only this week really started to notice...i was thinking it was due to snow and possibly poorer people needing a bed....not sure.....
