Discussion about
I am beginning my hunt for a new apartment (rental, alcove studio under 3k, high-rise). I am looking in the Columbus Circle area and am looking at City Spire and Sheffield (but also open to other suggestions similar to these two). When visiting the management company offices what is the best way to handle? Do I tell them my price range or just leave a biz card saying what I am looking for? Are there any brokers that specialize in Col Circle area? Am really trying to avoid paying fee. Thank you in advance.

Try Park Towers South (57th between 8th and 9th) or the Colonnade (57th between 8th and 9th). Also Brodsky has a couple of high rises on 9th and 59th - e.g. One Columbus Place. If you are willing to be further south there is the Eillington on 52nd and 8th, the Metro on 53rd and 8th, Midwest Court on 53rd and 9th and the Nicole on 55th and 9th. You don't need a broker for that area. Just walk into the buildings and talk to the doormen or call the ones with websites. E.g. Brodsky for One Columbus Place, Rockrose for Midwest Court, Rose for Ellignton - and I think the Nicole and Park Towers South have their own websites.

Look up all the numbers first on nybits.Com - also the site will show some vacancies.
