hi flatiron21 - thanks for picking this up - yes, we're hosting a first of its kind (as far as we know) seminar for those thinking about selling in 2011.

it is truly a soup-to-nuts on pricing, time on market, marketing, etc., with information that we have never before seen presented to sellers.

our belief is that quality information and insight is more critical than ever, and hosting this kind of seminar is our way of sharing it in a transparent and educational way.

come one, come all! (though limited seating so please RSVP)

"never before seen presented to sellers" ... except by every real estate broker who ever pitched business to every seller who ever existed, probably since the Middle Ages.

I hear you both, alanhart and ab_11218 ... it's precisely because the same information is presented over and over, with questionable value, that we're hosting this seminar series.

I don't believe I have ever come across a seminar for sellers that explains precisely what the entire process entails, shares best practices in terms of negotiations, pricing, competitive advantage, etc. What I HAVE always seen is "first time home buyer" seminars, which barely attain a 101 level of information.

I would love to believe that, despite many having been burned, despite general NY skepticism, and despite the pitiful reputation that our industry generally has, there are still those out there who allow for the room for innovation, transparency and a different model to arise. It is out of this hope and intention that the seminars were born. May sound sappy but 100% true.

Lastly, Elliman, like every other real estate firm, is a group of individual contractors, all of whom are their own franchise, with their own unique skill-sets, and therefore different approaches.

What I would say is: please come and see for yourselves if this is different than "the same bull every day of the week" -- the best clients/customers/testimonials are converts :)

... on a similar note, would love to hear from the SE community: aside from seller information (which I think is currently lacking in a seminar / educational format at this time), what would everyone be interested in learning about?

what kind of topics would make you want to attend (assuming, of course, they're not sales pitches and contain real content)?
