Discussion about
I can't help notice how many new (slow to sell) buildings are beginning to de-emphasize their brand in all their advertising and listings. Anyone else notice? I think after some of the shellacking delivered right here on this board the prudent thing has been to 'hide' the name especially wrt listings.
for instance?
515 East 72st
LOL thread title.
515 East 72nd is a special case -- the building was affiliated with the Miraval spa, so it was being marketed as "Miraval Living" and then that partnership broke. I believe developer is now working with a new spa, but that's why the name change.
Still, that's a slightly different bird from, say, 650 Sixth, which I think is on its fourth marketing firm by now -- which is CORE, which has "rebranded" the building as the Cammeyer.

It's the flip side of fame, infamy.
I expect a name change for the Setai. I bet Extell wishes they could change The Rushmore. But what the hell will 20 Pine do?
Is 22 Pine taken? Just kidding. What about The Pine?
1485 Fifth Avenue
Given the frequent descriptions of units at 20 Pine as dark, gloomy and dungeon-like, The Pine Box might be a good name. That would take a real sense of humor on the part of the developer, though.
