i definitely would. once you cross GAP, you're in "their" territory.

until 5 yrs ago, most of underhill, from the very start, was a drug alley. it has significantly improved since then. that said, they do have their boys hanging around in case one of the crackers who has been straight for a while comes there and doesn't know where to score. these are the guys who direct them a few blocks away from gentrification.

2 yrs ago, one of my neighbors moved from underhill and park pl. they told me that dealing was going on all the time outside their building.

it's all about your tolerance. there are people buying in East Harlem and Central Harlem, as well as in Bed Sty, and find it perfectly fine seeing deals happen on the block. it's all about choices.
