Discussion about
Hi, I have brand new cabinets and I want to reface them with white thermofoil. I have 13 Doors and 6 Drawer-fronts, and want to install 2 frosted glass doors, and total they are about 22 linear feet in size. I got quotes of about 6K from two refacing companies. Is this a good deal? Thanks
does that include labor? if so, it sounds like a GOOD deal to me.....
yes, labor and materials
How many doors? Thermofoil should be really inexpensive
Primer, 11 thermofoil doors, 2 frosted glass and 6 thermofoil drawer-fronts
Sorry, I meant I need the sizes of the doors
Primer, the doors/drawer sizes are approximately:
15x30 (4)
18x30 (1)
13.5x40(4)
15x24(2)
15.5x28(2)
27x7.5(2)
27x10(4)
anony: PrimerO5 is good. I'm going to contact him when I get back to town,to do some work for me.
He gives good advice on SE.
will he get tickets?
anony: Ignore CC. He has nothing to contribute here.
how could you know since you have never read a word that i have said?
And, here's cc., again.
Within a minute of my posting a comment.
What is he writing? I don't know.
i said that you are wonderful human being, a real tribute.
cc., from what I've been reading here on other threads; has fallen out of favor with his slave-master and the slaves.
They used him and then left him in the lurch.
Like a used tissue.
Hi, Truth!
As I wrote:
Like a used tissue.
Within minutes: ah, with nothing more to offer than his imbecilic comment.
This, from an otherwise intelligent person.
That is what being a slave to a master forces him to do.
The fact that someone is posting his/her services (renovations) on line has no bearing to the quality and or pricing they give here. I had my shower glass door replaced by an online person who posted here and I got screwed. Please make sure you have a written contract and references including actual viewing of the contractor's work and make sure to have a start and end date. Exercise caution with on-line advices.
realtime: Thanks.
I know, and will proceed with your advice.
Truth, thank you. I look forward to meeting you.
Anonymous, I will get you prices tomorrow
Realtime, I agree with you completely. It is very important to do your research on anyone you hire, weather it is on this site or anywhere else.
whoa...
i would highly suggest that life is way too short to deal with truth. you may want to engage your attorney in advance.
realtime, which contractor did you use and were unhappy with?
More moronic comments from alanhart.
PrimerO5:
Don't you worry 'bout a thing.
Nobody can "shake down a poor motorist for big chump change in (a) frivolous lawsuit".
Only the slaves keep repeating that nonsense.
Just don't allow them to hire you.
Or get your real name.
.
let my people go.

you have no people. no followers, no admirers.
There's no such thing as schizophrenia, there's only mental telepathy. I once had a friend named Camilla Costello. She was Abbott and Costello's daughter. She said to me, 'You know, Sylvia, I have a lot of friends, but you're my best friend.' I'm working here. I'm an intern at Creedmoor. I'm in the Pentecostal Church, but I'm thinking of changing my religion. I have a dog at home. I love instant oatmeal. When you have Jesus, you don't need a diet. Mick Jagger wants to marry me. I want to get out the revolving door. With Jesus Christ, anything is possible. I used to hit my mother. It was the hyperactivity from all the cookies I ate. I've been there once, by television. My name is Jack Warden, and I'm an actress.
see columbiacounty, you could never in a million years try to have the wit of alanhart.
hunterburg: That's what I'm writing about.
Whatever cc. wrote, who cares? He's been shafted by the gang.
He became a troll, in service of his master.
Now, he's out in the cold.
that's hunter with an s, you idiot.
the gang must be some reference to aboutready, last week she was talking about who "we" considered a "valued poster" or that "we" needed to defend someone from a non-"we".
huntersburg: Yes. She is the master of the "we" slaves.
well, truth.
am i in or am i out?
please let me know.
columbiacounty, does anyone answer your questions? I don't just mean here on streeteasy, but, in your personal, family, "professional" life - do people answer your questions?
huntersburg: No. Nobody answers cc's questions.
Whatever they are. Who cares?
cc. has been tossed out of the imbecile gang.
How do you know?
I have not been informed.
Here is a poster child for what is wrong with otherwise useful forums like this. A reasonable question, one or two constructive answers, and 20 useless comments, including this one.
I couldn't agree more nyc_sport. It's just so incredibly juvenile.
how does one access info on truth's litigation?
Want to echo comments by realtime and Primer05. Research - both the company and its individual principals. Do a general search beyond the BBB and DCA. You just may find some interesting information as to whom you are dealing with.
nyc_sport and new2RE : Exactly.
Thanks.

I have to wait until Tuesday to give you prices for the doors. We don't usually supply them so i have to wait for the manufacturer to give them to me
bumping up this thread since it got hijacked
About 5 years ago, we paid around $7500 to have our kitchen cabinets refaced. Very small kitchen, only about 4 or 5 cabinet doors, 3 drawers. It was definitely worth it. This $7500 included a new Corian countertop and new sink. Now 5 years later, my kitchen still looks new. The Corian might be a little bit dated, but I don't care. You have a huge choice of colors with Corian and it holds up beautifully. I
Michael,
Why do you think the Corian is dated? Is it the color? If not you could have it sanded ad polished and it would look new
Actually, I don't think it's dated, but I see a lot of comments about Corian being dated. I picked Sandstone, and I think it's perfect. The reason I like corian is that there are so many colors to choose from, it doesn't scratch or stain, and is always warm when you touch it. I like granite and marble, but you're really limited by the colors. If I had to do it again, I'd choose Corian again, or something like it.
