Discussion about
http://www.cnbc.com/id/41885392 Great news. Hopefully Fridays report kicks buttocks.
Tell me Steve how they count all the people who are actually still jobless but maxed out their unemployment. There are people in the shadows with nothing. I know there was no follow up poll after my dh completed his unemployment benefits. So now what? There can be thousands like him.
Once again, sounds like you should have bought stocks, not Manhattan RE.
Let's see swe. What r u up 20% on your stocks honey? So that's 20k on 100k? Well on one studio alone I'm up more than double that.
nothing against stock investing but please stop spreading your silliness. Unless u can pick'em and hold'em like Buffet you better stay with an index fund. Manhattan real estate has been one of the best investment returns these past 2 years...
20%? Are you kidding?
Dow is up 70-80% since you made your call.
> Unless u can pick'em and hold'em like Buffet you better stay with an index fund.
I'm mostly in index funds, genius. They are up over 70%, genius.
Plus, the SSOs I bought are actually up over 200%
> Manhattan real estate has been one of the best investment returns these past 2 years...
Yes, I'm sure NEGATIVE 17% return leveraged 5x is one of YOUR best, but for anybody else, that is awful. You lost a ton, toots, sorry.
Nice to see I'm still on ignore, crybaby....
Actually, let me correct that. SSOs are up over 250%.
swe, how did you set up your alerts? SteveF posts and you come in within minutes.
Nah, that one took 5 hours. I do 'em all in one sweep.
It just seems quick because he gets proven silly so frequently.
"Gallup Reports Underemployment Surges To 19.9%, February "Jobs Situation Deteriorates": As Bad As 2010"
"On one hand we have the Department of Truth about to tell tomorrow that NFP based on various seasonal and birth death adjustments increased by 250,000. On the other hand, we have Gallup which actually does real time polling without a procyclical propaganda bias. And Gallup does't have any good news: "Unemployment, as measured by Gallup without seasonal adjustment, hit 10.3% in February -- up from 9.8% at the end of January. The U.S. unemployment rate is now essentially the same as the 10.4% at the end of February 2010." And the one indicator that nobody in the mainstream media will touch with a ten foot pole: "Underemployment, a measure that combines part-time workers wanting full-time work with those who are unemployed, surged in February to 19.9%."

Further, to qualify for unemployment, you have to have been let go from a full time job. So 368K full time employees were let go, which does not take into account those who are working part time who DO NOT qualify for unemployment. This number is not as rosy as we hope it is. Lastly, with 125,000 new job seekers entering the economy per month, a drop to 386K in a week is weak.
429,000. http://www.cnbc.com/id/43507567

"Jobs Picture Grows Worse as Weekly Claims Post Jump"
Ugly
SteveF will invariably post a lithium-induced screed about how that's good news.
The reason new unemployment claims dropped is that the unemployed couldn't afford the
cost of the gas required to get them to the unemployment office.
Fortunately, now that Uncle Ben has shot his load we have the IEA to bail us out.
Manhattan is less Force Field...more...cloaking devise
Bad news.....cloaking devise on!...what happened to the bad news?....all gone!
Got to wipe carfully to avoid the Klingons.
All this reminds me of Edward G. Ronbinson in the Ten Comandments.
As Moses passes, Robinson, in his best gangster voice, shouts out, "Whose your G-d now Moses nyah nyah"?
"Tumbel"?
