Love the wood slab tables at Hudson Furniture.
All dining tables are 10K and way plus however

And I really want this camel sofa at Room and Board in a sectional but not available
(you have to see it in person to appreciate the color)

I have several pieces of colonial American furniture--inherited from family--that are currently in storage. I personally adore Deco and Beidermeier styles so will need to figure out a way to marry the two without everything feeling too hodgepodge.

if your place is more that couch than that table, check out these chairs

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?VISuperSize&item=320631250957

i see so many chairs i love but never any tables. the table that goes with them is the obvious answer, but i always think i'll see that one cool table that works and looks great, but doesn't "match"

thuthskr10, if you have detailed specs for a table, there's a place/guy on Bowery who'd do it for you. Under $1200.

It is a bit tricky though, not all slabs are created equal as well as the stains.
No 2 pieces are the same.

You guys have to see the walnut slab table at Hudson in person, it is stunning. The ones with metal legs are 20K and up. I knowing meatpacking rent is high but my lord.......

bramstar, that's certainly unique. but it looks incredible hazardous for a "child's chair". glass eyeballs on the horn tips would really complete that viking look.

" need to figure out a way to marry the two without everything feeling too hodgepodge. "

i think if you choose the pieces carefully they would look very cohesive together.

truth- the Hudson wood furniture (especially the various tables) are really fabulous. Good thing I have no more room.

My furniture is a mix of 1930's,40's,50's Italian, some vintage Chinese pieces, some midcentury modern (Robjsohn-Gibbings tables, Edward Wormley chairs) and some 1970's pieces. Sofas just simple, classic upholstered. I know it sounds like a total mash-up, but somehow everything works together - maybe just because the woods and the lines work. (It's actually sort of weird how some Chinese furniture looks so good with some midcentury modern - just not that blonde stuff).

I think my favorite pieces are the Alcoa Aluminum 1939 World's Fair chairs in my kitchen. Lightweight and incredibly comfortable.

Lucille, if the the set of tables you have looks anything like the Kemp pieces, they are really gorgeous.

thanks ph41. they are very similar and way too beautiful for my life for the foreseeable future. your place sounds great and like a real home filled with objects you love and accumulated over time. that the best.

truthskr, my link before doesn't work. not sure they'd work with that table when you finally get it though.

sorry to keep spamming from the bay of e, but these are so striking and read like an attempt to balance art nouveau and make it balanced and logical.
