Discussion about
Can anyone recommend a good furniture refinisher? I want a cabinet repainted. Thanks.

Best in the business.
You might try ABC. We bought a dining table from them a very long time ago, it was one of their cheapo basement items that they just wanted to get rid of. They had one of their own guys refinish it, and it looked beautiful when he was done. The cost was $40 for the repair (it had a broken leg) and refinishing. This was about 17 years ago, but they might still offer this service, and even then $40 was incredibly cheap.
Thank you both, I'll check them out.
Anything more local? Kahl restorations is out of the city and ABC staff will not come to the home. I am looking to redo the surface of an old dining table. Any local reference will be appreciated
I recently researched this and came up wih two names. If you can take some pictures to send along, it always helps.

I can't speak for the quality of the work since I ultimately decided not to go ahead with the project. It was too expensive for what I was refinishing.
Kahl's pick-up and deliver to Manhattan. They do furniture for the White House, Hershey Estate, etc. Geniune furniture refinishing. I have used them for years on both simple and extremely valuable pieces.
I'd call Michael Smith of Adelaide in the Village (formerly of Depression Modern) -- it's not his primary business, so I don't know what he charges, but I have seen his finished restorations and I would trust him to do an A+ job.
