Commercial Tenant with sublease-Landlord being evicted...and wants me out by this Thursday!! What are my rights? Hi...I rent a professional office space from my current landlord whom holds the lease to our office suite. Those of us in the suite just found out recently that he owes over $30,000 in back rent and he was served on Thursday with a Petiion. My landlord just contacted me yesterday and informed me that he would be out by the end of this month...this Thursday and that I had better move or the building will hold me responsible for next month's rent in it's entirety or try to evict me. I am now a month to month tenant as my original lease has expired. Am I wrong in thinking that either the building or my landlord have to give me at least 30 days notice before I am forced to move? Does anyone knwo my rights. I have no intention of becoming a holdover, I just need time to move and find a new office space. Thanks. [less]
