Southbury/Woodbury CT area?

Sorry for the non-NY question guys..Family member is thinking about 2nd home around Woodbury/Southbury CT? Anyone know about this area?? Im hoping to stumble upon someone that lived closeby and any info would be appreciated. Thx!

It's been a while since I frequented the area regularly, but Southbury never seemed like "getaway" country to me; it's more like where the people with real getaways do their shopping. And they go antiquing in Woodbury for entertainment. It depends on what your relative wants in a second home. For real seclusion, I'd suggest Roxbury/Washington (just up the road) or the seriously isolated towns farther north, which are even more peaceful and where the dollar goes a lot farther than around Candlewood or Waramaug.
