Discussion about 155 Henry Street #1A
Can someone explain to me why the owner thinks that this property (with no renovation) has appreciated by 250K (a little over 600K to a little under 900K) in 18 months. Totally ridiculous.

I think the seller bought a distressed property at the bottom of the market and now stands to profit on the resale. The market will determine what the eventual sale price is, but the seller will certainly make some money. No renovation necessary - just a smart buy at a time when money was tight and everyone was scared to jump in, followed by a smart sale at a time when people are afraid 30-yr mortgages will evaporate.

Tina: It took all of a week for them to knock $50K off of this apartment. Suspect some more comparable cuts are around the corner.
