Discussion about 240 Riverside Boulevard #3A
You know for a fact the Amtrak is heard 7 times a day?
There're at least ten Penn-Poughkeepsie trains per day, so must be as many in the other direction too.
I lived in that building for a year. You can't hear the trains, unless you're outside on a balcony. You can hear the highway traffic, which bothered my husband but not me. It's a great building/location, especially with kids.
So funny, they can engineer a building to filter out train noise, but not the cars.
Train is underground so I can understand why they could hear the car traffic and not the train.
Except it's the other way...
ignore that.
I live in the building and have not heard any train noise. I agree with srh the building/location is great.
I would think the wind noise would drown out everything.
Just my $.02 but on such a low floor you WILL hear a ton of noise--including cell phone convos from pedestrians. Personally, I'd prefer to live on a higher floor. As for the value, IMO this unit does seem overpriced though I am not very familiar with the Trump buildings. Also, you cannot really gauge the current value based on what the unit sold for in '08. Remember, the market has actually strengthened in the past year or so. That said, it's very possible the previous owner overpaid. Do some comps research before making any offer.
I used to live on that building on the 3rd floor and EVERY TIME amtrak train goes by you do hear it on the 3rd floor. It is about 7-10 times a day.
