Ive been looking for a high rise, full service (gym, doorman, roofdeck) apartment with a balcony in the Murray Hill/Grsmercy area until I came across this building. It had the apartment I wanted, so I signed the lease, sent the checks. A few people warned me about how badly it was run by the Management company, AKAM and that the doormen in this building were not very friendly. I did not heed the warnings. I should have.
All set to move in in a few weeks, I came in to take measurements for furnishing. I was told I could not see the apartment I PAID FOR without a broker. Fine. But the way this particular doorman who seems to hate life treated a future tenant with utter rudeness and contempt, raising his voice, was uncalled for. When I called him out on it and reported it, merely asking for an apology, I quickly found out the management company would side with this guy and the owner forced to cancel the lease - after I had already moved out of my previous apt.
All I can say is that if you think this is a luxury building and you expect to be treated like a human being by the people that run it, think again and look elsewhere.
