if you're serious about making it look not tacky by accident, but like, designed that way, you can put in built ins on either side of the bed and mirror the wall from the bed up in between.

you cans till use a headboard, or it can just become the headboard, just get lots of big pillows and secure the bed.

What about one of those large mirrors which lean against the wall next to your bed; that's your money shot. You can then vary the position of the mirror, bed, partner. Your timid friends will either have to up their game or admit they're not ready to play in the majors.
