Advise on Co-op rental

I have submitted an application for a sublease of an apartment in a co-op. Part of the application was the lease that was signed by me, but I have never received the copy signed by the owner. Due to personal circumstances I need to pull out the application (board has not yet reviewed the package or interviewed me) - am I liable? Anybody has an experience in this type of situation? TIA
