would appreciate hearing opinions on drawer style d/w's (Fisher Paykel makes them, and I think Sears does too) from those of you who have owned them. Thanks.
My Fisher Paykel has had to be fixed twice in six years. It came with my condo unit and the owner who performed the kitchen renovation left paperwork related to repairs. So there was one repair after installation and now it needs to be repaired again (it's leaking). To be fair, the problem may have been with the installation (i.e., installers getting used to the new product), but I now have a negative opinion on Fisher Paykel and miss my former Bosch dishwasher.
Thanks, wavedeva. FP's do seem to need a lot of repairs, and I saw that a customer survey Consumer Reports took indicated that FP's have the highest rate of service calls. Given what they cost, you'd think they'd have the lowest! Will be remodeling my kitchen soon and am debating whether to leave my d/w where it is (it's currently a 40 year old drawer style made by Hotpoint -- they no longer manufacture them, and due to space limitations a drawer style d/w is required there), or move the d/w to the other side of the sink where I can use a conventional d/w. Am leaning toward moving the d/w at this point.
