Discussion about
We live in Williamsburg now and like having a backyard. We also like all the bars and restaurants so where can we live that will be similar?
axle I'd check out Prospect Heights, especially if $ are a concern. It's a similar neighborhood in some ways (backyards, bars, and restaurants are all there) and depending on your block, fairly well situated.
Staten Island.
If you like where you live, why move?
thanks bjw
Matt commute is a little too long
maly - availability and price basically - not a lot of places with yards right now
fort greene...believe me...check it out. its literally 6 minutes to prime fg from willyb. i also live wb & have been for about 6 years. my husband & i also have a large garden & 2 bedrooms. ive been actively searching for a condo/house for 6 months. i have literally been inside every new dev in the area & just havent fallen in love w anything. i realize that our expectations r high but why not. buying re is a huge purchase & one that u will be paying for thru out ur lifetime. sooo last week they broke into our truck for the 3rd time in 2 years & i had to replace the glass. i found an incredible deal in fort greene & googled the distance. well the rest is history. i had never been to fg before that day & i was so pleasantly surprised that it was a place i coukd call home. believe me i was close minded to any other area being a true wb advocate. but fg blows wb away as far as the aesthetic & the amount of fully matured trees & just the entire vibe is chill. the restaurants & bars along dekalb & myrtle ave were in full swing & i couldnt get over how i felt like i was in a european town. i ended up staying all day after fixing my car. i got into 3 places & the first at 415 clermont ave was the ground floor of a brownstone w a backyard. granted the backyard was really just dirt but the size was good & the privacy was even better. the apt had 1 bedroom upstairs & a bonus room in the cellar. tons of potential. 1 block to the largest train. check it out & good luck. btw i put an offer on another building only becuz i wanted a brand new building. i cant wait to move. also the prices r better & u get more sq footage for the $. that was important to us.
JC..
you'll have the stigma of being in 'jersey' by some dude from ohio who tries to hard to pretend he's from ny...
but grove street is where your typical billyburgian goes once he's priced out..
