Discussion about
Greetings everyone, and thank you in advance for your advice. I currently live in nyc and plan on being here for another 2-3 years. I though it might be a good idea to buy a one bedroom apartment in city, and rent it out after I leave. Do you think this is a good idea? If so where would be the best place to maximize my rental income. Also, i do not foresee myself being forced to sell the apartment in the near future and if needs be i will be able to prepay the mortage. thank you

If you have that kind of liquidity, you might try day trading leveraged equity or commodities ETFs for the next three to eight weeks. While the FED has promised QE2 will last through the end of June 2011, speculators may be in full force while the lifeguard is still on duty. Then if all goes well with that, you might have 10-25% more money to work with.

Risky, awful ROI, illiquid, high transaction costs. What's not to like?
