Trade to a smaller co-op in the same building?

Say a sponsor owns more than one apartment in a building? I currently own a 2 bedroom apartment and was wondering how easy it would be to switch to the one bedroom apartment. I am actually paying off the mortgage directly to the sponsor. Any one heard of someone trying what I want to do?

Real estate people are used to receiving all kinds of offers. Just call your sponsor
and tell him/her what you would like to do.
