Discussion about
do studios ever appreciate faster than the market avg? or do they just show slight upticks in bull markets and big declines in bears? i'm thinking long-term investment strategy...

In the 80s recession studios fell big, and in the 90s recovery they gained big... I bought in Chelsea for $65K in 1996, and sold in 1999 for twice that.

In 2009-2010 it looked like they fell about 20% and then traded, but how much of that was the first-time homebuyer tax credit? I own an investment studio, but haven't tried to sell it. I will say that now the starter apartment market seems slow and not much seems to be happening.
